Mary Rose + John

A beautiful fall wedding at the Walters Barn in Lula, Georgia.

Grace + Brennen, The Variety Works, Madison, Georgia

The first time I met Grace was a week before her wedding.  We met up for coffee just to go over last minute details and to get to know each other a little.  I could tell how excited she was for the big day to arrive – and I remember her asking me “Am I supposed to be nervous? Everyone keeps asking if I am…but I’m not. I know I want to marry Brennen so I don’t really know what there is to be nervous about.” I remember feeling the exact same way before my own wedding…when you know, you know!

The wedding day came….and the forecast was rain. Buckets and buckets of rain. All day long. But that didn’t damper the spirit of the day – and these two were troopers and we got some beautiful portraits even in the pouring rain!  After the wedding, these two packed up a U-Haul and started a drive across the country to move to Arizona where Brennen is stationed right now. Talk about a lot of change in a hurry! So excited for these two and the new adventure they are embarking on together. So glad you chose me to capture your day, and so happy to share these beautiful images!

Katie + Travis

Where to begin with this one! Katie & Travis are an amazing couple from Colorado Springs – and they decided to get married in Georgia where Travis’ family lives on this beautiful property in Acworth.  Katie was the most relaxed bride EVER and referred to herself as “bridechilla” – and just took the day in as it came! Since they weren’t from here and used to the extreme humidity and high temperatures (thanks GA), we had to take several cool down breaks during portraits – but it was sooo worth it! Everything was beautiful, simple and just plain fun.  So fun meeting you guys and getting to capture this day!!

Kati + Rony, Willow Creek Farm Wedding

I always love working with the staff at Soirees Southern Events, and this was my first time getting to shoot at the beautiful Willow Creek Farm venue that they manage. The property is absolutely stunning and full of spots for photos….so I was a happy camper!  Kati chose a bright color scheme for all the florals, while sticking with a classic navy for the groomsmen suits and bridesmaid dresses – and it all came together beautifully! The perfect ‘almost fall’ wedding – full of fun little details like their Star Wars cake with 3-D printed cake toppers! My favorite moment of the day (if I had to choose just one) had to be when Kati was almost done getting ready, and about to put her shoes on, she asked her daughter, Maybin, if she looked pretty, and she quickly said “No! (pause)….You look gorgeous” and she got on the floor and put her mom’s shoes on for her. Cue the heart melt. Such a pleasure capturing this special day for this family.

Mallory + Jimmy, Walter’s Barn Wedding, Lula, Georgia

I don’t even know where to start with this one!! Mallory & Jimmy had the most perfect wedding at the Walter’s Barn last weekend – and I even managed to make a cute new friend (see the sweet donkey picture below, haha).  The berry color scheme & florals were gorgeous, as was expected from the talented team at Soirees Southern Events, and Mallory was absolutely stunning.  A couple of my favorite details from the day were the football themed groom’s cake, & the homemade jam favors that Jimmy’s dad made himself!  It was evident that a lot of love went into planning this day for this sweet couple and it couldn’t have been any more perfect. The day ended with an amazing sunset, balloon sendoff and these two jetted off on a plane to Jamaica! So happy to have captured this day for the new Mr. & Mrs. Bayer! Wishing you a lifetime full of happiness!

Cara & Trey, Abby Manor Greenville Wedding

Cara and Trey are two of the sweetest people that you will ever meet.  I got to see the initial spark ignite between the two of them while we were in Peru together studying abroad, and then several years passed, their relationship continued to grow, and they got engaged! I photographed their engagement session, and after a long season of engagement, last week they allowed me to capture the start of their forever.  The entire day was so joy filled and full of such sweet moments.  Neither of them seemed nervous at all – they were both just so excited that after so much time waiting, their day had finally arrived and that they were going to be able to celebrate with all of their family and friends.  Everything was absolutely beautiful and it was so sweet to see the love & support being poured out on Cara and Trey by their loved ones through prayer.  Then to finish it all off, they were sent off with a beautiful firework show!!  I hope that you’ll be able to feel the sweet emotions of this day through the photos below. And if you really feel like crying, make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom to watch their teaser video by the talented team at WedFlix – they captured this story beautifully!! Congratulations Cara & Trey, it was such an honor and a joy to capture your day!
A few of the Peru friends back together! 🙂

Elisse + Clay, Biltmore Ballrooms

Elisse and Clay are one of the sweetest and most genuinely fun couples that I’ve ever met. If you watch their video by WedFlix (I linked to it at the bottom of this post so make sure you scroll all the way down!), you can hear more of their story and how they made it to this day. Everything about this wedding was perfect – the location, the decor, the attire, the florals, the food – EVERYTHING. They were surrounded by tons of family (some who had come all the way from Honduras to be there) and friends to support them and celebrate. I hope you enjoy looking at these beautiful images from their day!

Anna + Lane, Monday Night brewing – the garage Wedding, Atlanta, Georgia

Anna and Lane had the most fun wedding at Monday Night Brewing’s new venue, The Garage! But even before the wedding I got the chance to hang out with Anna and do a bridal session with her in Piedmont Park – and it was AMAZING! Her Lazaro dress from Bridals by Lori was stunning and I certainly didn’t mind getting to photograph her in it twice!! She told me that they loved to laugh and have a good time, and they wanted their wedding to reflect that. And boy, did they succeed in that mission!! They had a rocking live band, a menu featuring a french fry bar + burger station + taco bar,  a donut & coffee bar featuring each of their favorite flavors, AND a glow stick exit at the end of the night. So unique and tailored perfectly to their fun-loving style. Check out a few of my favorites below and show the newlyweds some love!!

Hannah + Wilson

Hannah and Wilson had the most beautiful wedding in November at her parents’ gorgeous home in Alpharetta.  Her mom and dad had worked tirelessly for months to make everything perfect – and it was! They built a beautiful arbor on the patio by the pool for the ceremony, and made sure all the landscaping was in prime condition for all the guests when they arrived. Hannah had so many cute little details made, like the amazing cookies decorated in the likeness of her sweet Corgi, Sydney! They were a huge hit! Another unique detail was doing a confetti toss exit from the ceremony. Usually venues have restrictions against confetti but when you get married at your own house you can do pretty much whatever you want! Hannah and Wilson, I wish you all the best for your new life together in Virginia – it was so much fun being a part of your day!!

Katie & Dylan, October wedding at the Sanctuary Estate, Cleveland, Georgia

Katie and Dylan got married on the coldest day of October (which I was definitely not expecting!) – but luckily the awesome staff at the Sanctuary Estate were ready for anything and made some last minute changes to the setup to help everyone stay comfortable. They even had an amazing white fur jacket on hand for Katie to wear so she wouldn’t freeze – and she totally rocked it! The changing leaves, Katie’s beautiful red hair, her gorgeous wedding gown & bouquet made for some stunning bridal portraits! It was a beautiful, intimate celebration with Katie & Dylan’s family and closest friends. Katie’s brother officiated the ceremony, Dylan’s brother was best man, and Katie’s Matron of Honor was her precious mom.

A few days after the wedding, Katie’s sweet mom, Carole, passed away after a 10 year battle with cancer. Katie said her mom was determined to be at the wedding, even though she wasn’t feeling well. If you were fortunate enough to know Carole, you know what a fighter she was, so that’s no surprise at all!  She was well-known for her smile and infectious laughter – a trait that certainly has passed on to Katie.  There was no hiding the joy on her face and I know it meant the world for her to get to be there for this special day. And I know she was so proud of you Katie, & happy that you found Dylan to spend your life with. Praying for comfort for you and many blessings on your marriage! It was such an honor to capture your special day.

Catherine + Rob, Fall Wedding at Chukkar Farm, Alpharetta, Georgia

Catherine and Rob had the most beautiful wedding last weekend at Chukkar Farm! The weather couldn’t have been any more perfect for their outdoor ceremony and reception. Catherine made sure that all the little details were taken care of (and they were stunning!). There were bulb string lights hung all across the courtyard, and so many pretty little vintage touches, like the flower vases and outdoor “living room”! But one of my favorite details from their day was the live painting Catherine had commissioned of their first dance! It was the first wedding I’ve shot that had a live painter present, and it was so cool to watch (and see the end result). Huge congrats to this sweet couple, your wedding was a blast to photograph – I especially loved getting to experiment with sparklers at the end!! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!

Heather + Colby, Proctor Farm Rome, Georgia Wedding

Heather and Colby got their start in a unique way…they met on Tinder! But it didn’t take either of them very long to realize they had found someone special, and they’ve been together ever since. They got married on a gorgeous day at Proctor Farm in Rome…and Heather looked absolutely stunning in her Essence of Australia gown (that back detailing was so gorgeous!!). I think one of my favorite details of the day though was when they SHOT OFF A CANON after their ceremony.  Such a unique and fun memory to have!! Talk about heading into marriage with a bang!!

It was a blast working with you Heather and Colby – I’m so thankful you let me be a part of your special day. Here’s to many happy years for you guys!!!

Rachel + Tim, White Oaks Barn Wedding, Dahlonega, Georgia

Tim and Rachel were the best of friends all through college…and one day I guess it just clicked that they would be an awesome match…and they started dating. It wasn’t long after that when Tim popped the question, and now they are husband and wife! Such a joy to see these two get married and celebrate with them before they move off to Texas!  It was my first time shooting at White Oaks Barn, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Sweeping mountain views, & wide open fields gave me plenty of gorgeous photo spots for portraits (which you’ll probably notice by the length of this blog post haha). You’ll also notice that they have custom embroidered Chacos on at their reception!! That’s a true North Georgia couple if I’ve ever seen one. 🙂 All in all, a beautiful day for this awesome couple. Hope you enjoy their pictures below!

Ashley + Kyle, Ashton Gardens Atlanta Wedding

I knew from the very first time I met Ashley and Kyle that their wedding would be beautiful and a WHOLE LOT OF FUN.  When you find out that a couple has a 19 person wedding party, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a good time. There were so many sweet little moments throughout this wedding day…from when Ashley and Kyle exchanged letters and prayed together before the ceremony, to hearing their parents give toasts at the reception.  Even when it came a downpour after their ceremony, they were both all smiles. It was clear after spending all day with their friends & family that these two have a great foundation to start their marriage with. They are deeply in love with one another and surrounded by people that love them – doesn’t get any better than that! Congrats to the Kidwell’s – it was an absolute honor to capture your day!

Madison + Jacob, Dahlonega Farm Wedding

It seemed like forever waiting for this day to come! Madison and Jacob were married in Dahlonega at his family’s farm last week. I had been watching the weather forecast like a hawk hoping that the rain would clear and give them good weather…and it did! There were sunny skies all afternoon…and the only time the rain came was right at the end of the ceremony. A little bit of good luck coming down from the sky!! Best wishes to these two as they start their married life out in Arizona!!

Bonnie + Bob, Gainesville, georgia wedding

I have known Bonnie since we were both babies. Seeing her marry Bob was such a joy! They got married on a beautiful spring day at the church that we grew up in (and that both of our parents were married at), danced the night away, and then packed up and moved to Texas all in the same weekend! So glad to have been a part of this wonderful celebration. I’ve never seen a dance floor so alive!!! So much fun to watch. Wishing you guys all the happiness in the world!!!

Mike + Vicki, Chateau Elan Resort and Winery Wedding

It had been several years since I shot a wedding at Chateau Elan, but this was a good one to come back for! Considering that this was a mid-January wedding, I assumed it was going to either be freezing cold or rainy (and if it would have been one week earlier it would have been a snow wedding!). The weather surprised us all with beautiful white cloudy skies and an unseasonably warm 65 degrees.  We couldn’t have asked for any better weather for outdoor wedding pictures. Vicki wore a beautiful ivory and blush wedding dress with some amazing detailing and a bow in the back. Even though it was warm outside, we still made use of her fur shawl for some of the photos.  Chateau Elan’s beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces make it easy for us wedding photographers – rain or shine or snow, there is always a spot for some awesome photos! And I may be a little biased…but I’m pretty sure they had the best (and most handsome) wedding singer ever 😉 Congratulations to Mike and Vicki!!

Ben + Ann Kathryn, Cohutta Springs Wedding

Ben and Ann Kathryn got married on what seemed like the windiest day of the year…but since wildfires had been burning in the area recently, the wind was actually a great thing because it got rid of all the smoke (and it made for some awesome veil shots..as you will see below)!  I’m a sucker for fall and all of its beautiful colors…so I was super excited when I walked in to the bridal suite and saw the gorgeous florals and bridesmaids dresses. The details in this wedding would appeal to any outdoorsy bride or groom…a beautiful mountain lake lodge location, s’mores as favors, a map guestbook, and an Appalachian Trail groom’s cake (made by the groom’s mother)! Ben and his best man recently hiked the Appalachian Trail, so it was only fitting to incorporate that into the day. I couldn’t have asked for a better and more joyful couple to close out my 2016 wedding season.  So happy for you Ben and Ann Kathryn, and thrilled you chose me to photograph your day!

Patricia + Steffon, Ashton Gardens Atlanta Wedding

I had to hold off on blogging this one because it was in the queue to be published! Shooting at Ashton Gardens Atlanta had been a goal of mine for quite a while…so I was thrilled when Patricia contacted me about shooting her weekday wedding there in October. The venue is so beautiful…with natural light beaming in from all directions in the chapel and in the ballroom. A true photographer’s dream!! Katie + Tim, Venue at Friendship Springs Wedding

Katie and Tim’s wedding on Saturday was so sweet and fun! It was the first wedding to be held at a new venue in Flowery Branch called The Venue at Friendship Springs. Everything was absolutely beautiful, and there were so many fun moments (like Tim & the groomsmen’s special dance at the reception!). As a salute to Tim’s alma mater (The University of South Carolina) the bridal party was decked out in USC Garnet (perfect for fall!). Katie wore a gorgeous Essence of Australia gown with such beautiful detailing. There is too much good stuff here to miss! It was an absolute pleasure to shoot this wedding…so happy for you Katie and Tim!! Keep scrolling down and check out some of my favorites below!!

Gay Anne + Landry, Cleveland, Georgia Wedding

This fall wedding was so much fun! I was hoping that since it was the third week of October that we would get a little fall color…and we did! The day I did their engagement session back in May, it rained on and off almost all day – so I was hoping for clearer skies for their wedding…and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. Slightly overcast, with a little sun poking through…a photographer’s dream!

Gay Anne was absolutely stunning, and one of the sweetest brides.  Even on her special day, she was making sure everyone else was taken care of and having a good time! She and Landry were both so chill and easy-going the entire time. They trusted me to “do my thing”…and that means the world.  She and Landry have been together since high school, so a lot of people had been waiting on this day to come for a long time. With family and friends surrounding them, and a beautiful lake behind them, they said their vows and became husband and wife.  Make sure you take notice of all the florals – this sweet bride and her mom and sister did them all themselves! And that gorgeous ring she is wearing? Custom designed by her sweet husband. So much goodness. Here’s some of my favorites!!

These two really hit a hole in one with their reception food…I mean who doesn’t love a good food truck? I’m pretty sure everyone had a Happy Belly after this wedding!
This was such a fun occasion to be able to witness and photograph. Definitely one of my favorites so far. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Haynes!! Wishing you guys all the happiness in the world!!

Charlotte + Will, Lake Lanier Wedding

Charlotte & Will had a lovely lakeside wedding at the Venetian Pier at Lanier Islands earlier this month. This beautiful celebration was full of laughs and it was such a joy to be a part of. I loved all the details from this day – Charlotte’s awesome shoes & STUNNING hair piece, the city themed reception table decor for all of their out of town guests, and the heart shaped sparklers to top it all off!  Wishing all the best to this beautiful couple! It was such an honor to celebrate with you and your family and friends from across the globe.

Kayla & Promise, Walter’s Barn, Lula, Georgia

It is always an honor to be the one chosen to capture a couple’s wedding day, but it is an extra special privilege to be chosen by close friends. I have known Kayla and Promise for a few years – we met at North Georgia (UNG) through the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. Seeing their relationship grow and thrive even through two and a half years of long distance was so encouraging – and seeing them seal the deal on Sunday was an absolute joy. I think I sweated a couple pounds off….and even had to outrun some sprinklers at the end of the day, but it was one of my favorite weddings to date! Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Armstrong!

Also, huge shout out to Allison, Sherri and the entire team at the Walter’s Barn/Soirees Southern Events. I absolutely loved the summer berry color scheme…..and that floral arch? Stunning. Everything about this day was so so beautiful! Scroll to the bottom for the rest of the awesome vendors!

Britney + Chris

These two were so fun! Britney and Chris got married earlier this month at Blackshear Place Baptist Church – and had a gorgeous outdoor reception at the Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville.  The day was full of sweet, emotional moments, and some hilarious ones, too! They chose to write their own vows (with quite a few jokes thrown in there), had a milk & cookie bar at the reception, and if that wasn’t enough….since their last name is Carlton…they did The Carlton!!!

One of my favorite details was the trim at the bottom of Britney’s amazing Alfred Angelo dress – her mom hand stitched it on there! I also loved the slate blue bridesmaids dresses (also Alfred Angelo) that all had different necklines. Such a sweet and fun group of people. It was such an honor (and a lot of fun) to be a part of this wedding day! Congrats Britney & Chris!

Bayleigh + Anthony, Park Tavern Wedding

This city wedding was a dream. Bayleigh couldn’t have been a more relaxed (and gorgeous) bride! The ceremony and reception was at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park – and the forecast originally called for rain, but there wasn’t a dark cloud in the sky.  So happy for you, Mr. and Mrs. Giamboy!! When the Bride Wears Chacos…

I already knew that Sara and Ben were a laid-back couple, but when I saw that Sara was wearing Chacos under her wedding dress, I was fully convinced that this was going to be one of my favorite weddings. This was not necessarily because I love Chacos (although I do have a pair and wear them quite frequently), but because it showed me something deeper about the couple: They were laid-back enough to not overly obsess with the wedding itself and all of the stressful things that often accompany weddings. They were completely focused on celebrating their love and the marriage relationship that was to follow.  And that is a beautiful thing!

Ben and Sara chose to have a private first look before we did any other photos (see below), and from that moment on, there was nothing but pure joy on both of their faces.  Their ceremony was fun, and relaxed (just like the two of them), and was at an incredibly beautiful location.  It was an honor to be able to photograph these sweet moments as they became husband and wife.
