I usually only get three types of mail at my house: 1. Wedding Invitations/Save the Dates/Shower Invitations (all my friends are getting married now). 2. Junk Mail or 3. Deliveries of prints and wedding albums!! I definitely don’t get excited about the junk mail, but getting a wedding album delivered is almost as exciting as Christmas morning! (Exciting enough to make me stand on top of my coffee table to take these pictures when this one came in). It’s like the icing on the cake that wraps up all of my hard work from a wedding. When couples decide not to order any products, I never get to see the images from that particular wedding in print (unless I order samples for myself). So when I get an album delivered, I get a little giddy. There is just something so different about holding the album and flipping through printed images of a beautiful wedding day than just looking at it on the screen. And I know that if I get a little giddy looking at SOMEONE ELSE’S wedding album, the couple has to be over the moon every time they get to relive their day by looking at their album. And I don’t want anyone to miss out on that! If you’ve paid good money for beautiful wedding images – LET THEM BE SEEN! They should never stay on a CD or flash drive for your whole life. I totally understand that weddings are expensive and sometimes it’s hard to decide which things to invest in and which things to save on, but having a tangible book that you can pick up anytime and remember how wonderful your wedding (and marriage) is, is invaluable. Bouquets will wilt, and the food will be gone, but a photo album will be that one piece of your day that you can keep and look at for the rest of your life.
And more than just for you, get an album for your mom! Picture this: You’re at your mom’s house for Christmas the year of your wedding. Instead of giving her something that she probably doesn’t need, what if you gave her her own custom album from your wedding day? Or if that isn’t in the budget, maybe even a few large prints of her favorite images? I can GUARANTEE you that will put a bigger smile on her face than any gift you can buy at the store ever will.
The investment you make in printing your wedding images will be so worth it. You’ll be able to sit down with your children one day and share with them about your wedding day, look at how far you have come in your marriage, and smile. And that’s something that no image on a CD will ever be able to do. If you are a soon-to-be bride, please talk to your photographer about albums and other product options. They will be happy to help you display your images in a timeless and elegant way – I can promise you that no photographer wants to find out that their images were never printed! 🙂
