The sweetest Fall surprise Proposal, watson & Lane are engaged!

Watson emailed me 6 months ago with his idea about how he was planning to propose to his girlfriend Lane at the end of October. He said that he was planning to “gift” her a photo session with me for her birthday, and then during the session he would propose. As the last couple months passed, he fine-tuned his plan even more and we created a faux gift certificate for the photo session to really keep her off guard and unsuspecting of anything fishy. He prepared a picnic style set up at the spot in the park where he wanted to propose, got a Bible engraved with her new name (pending she said yes of course), and sent his parents ahead to set it all up so it would be ready when we arrived for the session.

When Lane and Watson pulled up in the car next to me in the park, I could tell he was nervous (and that she had no idea that anything was going on). We began walking and taking photos, heading in the direction of the picnic setup – as if nothing unusual was going on. When we got close to the spot, I told them to walk in front of me and I would take a few photos from behind. And Watson took it from there! He led her up to the spot and sat her down, and then washed her feet and read a sweet letter to her (and I think this is about when she started to figure out what was happening). He handed her the bible and when she saw the name on it her face was priceless! He pulled out the beautiful ring, asked the million dollar question, and she said yes!  From the short amount of time I was around this couple, I could tell it was the real thing. They are so sweet together and I know they will make a great team as husband and wife! Congratulations you guys!!!

The “Ah Ha!” Moment 🙂
And then Lane’s “realizing that everyone was lying to her” moment! 🙂
Even their families were in on it! They were all hiding in the woods!

Welcome to my blog! This is where I share recent weddings & sessions, design work, & travels. When I’m not photographing weddings or behind the computer editing & designing, I’m hanging with my sweet husband, looking for the next best restaurant in town to try out, or dreaming about home renovations. I adore working with joyful, laid-back couples, and can’t wait to tell your story!
